David King

David has been working in information security for more than 25 years. He started his career in applied cryptography where he implemented a PKI-based messaging system way back in 1983. After completing a PhD in the same subject, he then worked for IT provider for a number of years doing amongst other things formal verification of code. Since then he has working in consulting, has been the Chief Security Architect for a global US-based bank, and then the Head of Group Information Security at Aviva. He participates in the BSI committees that provide the UK input into the 27000 series of standards. He is also one of the founding members and the Chair of the recently formed Information Security Awareness Forum. David has an MBA from London Business School, is a Chartered Engineer, and is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology. He also holds CISM and CISSP certifications.
